Hypothetical matches

Copy as Markdown

Simulate two teams that are not scheduled to meet, on a date and in a competition you choose.

Choose the match

GET /v1/hypothetical/teams lists the teams you can use and the dates, the next 7 days. GET /v1/hypothetical/competitions lists the competitions.

Send it instead of fixture_id. venue is home, the home side's ground (the default), or neutral; for the other ground, swap the teams. Kick-off is 18:00 UTC.

Which pairs

Opono Robin offers the matches it prices reliably:

  • two clubs of one league, or of one country across divisions;
  • clubs of two countries, when both leagues play enough continental matches;
  • two national teams.

A club never plays a national team. The competition must fit the pair: their league, their country's cup, a continental cup or a friendly; national teams play an international competition or a friendly. A scheduled match is refused; simulate it by its fixture_id. Anything else is hypothetical_not_offered (400), before any credits are held.

Sides

Each side is predicted, from the team's published match nearest the date, or custom. Read a team's player IDs from GET /v1/hypothetical/teams/{team_id}/squad?date=. There is no announced team sheet and no in_play.

Rules

  • Hypothetical runs are private and cost draws / 1,000 credits, like any run. A neutral match is played both ways round at the same price.
  • The document's fixture carries kind hypothetical, date and venue, and its id is the match's label, a negative number. basis.state is hypothetical.
